The Accommodation Experience of the Multifunctional “Smart Pod”

All 112 guest rooms at “The Millennials 渋谷” are independently developed multifunctional sleeping units known as “Smart Pods.” While conventional capsule hotels are designed as minimal spaces simply for sleeping, the Smart Pod is conceived as an integrated accommodation unit that combines sleep, work, relaxation, and entertainment in a single space.
Each pod offers a ceiling height of approximately 2.3 meters. Because guests can stand upright, the design reduces any sense of confinement and accommodates taller international guests. The bed features a reclining function, allowing users to switch between bed mode and sofa mode. A large storage space beneath the bed can accommodate suitcases. Each Smart Pod is equipped with a safety box, power outlets, and USB ports. The alarm system gradually brightens the lighting and activates the reclining function to encourage waking, allowing guests to rise without disturbing others with sound. In addition, by renting a projector for an additional fee and closing the sliding screen, guests can transform the Smart Pod into a private theater space.
Of the 112 rooms, one entire floor is designated as a women-only floor. Each floor is equipped with shower rooms, toilets, and washbasins, supporting long-term stays.
