An Urban Hotel Integrating Stay, Work, and Social Connection
“THE Millennials Shibuya” is located approximately a six-minute walk from Shibuya Scramble Crossing and serves as a hub for Shibuya culture. All 112 rooms are “Smart Pods,” sleeping units enhanced with both functionality and entertainment features. Unlike conventional capsule hotels, it offers an innovative lodging experience. In addition, the third-floor lounge houses “.andwork,” a coworking space with approximately 50 seats. Through daily Free Beer Time and in-house events, the hotel creates an environment where interaction among guests naturally takes place.
The Millennials Shibuya" is located approximately 6 minutes on foot from the Shibuya Scramble Crossing. Shibuya PARCO, MEGA Don Quijote Shibuya main store, clubs and music bars in Maruyamacho area are within walking distance, making it a convenient location for shopping, sightseeing, and night culture. Check-in is done via a tablet terminal, and guests can move directly to their rooms after the check-in procedure. The "Smart Pod" in the guestrooms can be operated with the loT controller, allowing adjustment of lighting and bed reclining functions. The technology-based management system is designed to make the entire process from arrival to stay as smooth as possible.
All 112 guest rooms at “The Millennials 渋谷” are independently developed multifunctional sleeping units known as “Smart Pods.” While conventional capsule hotels are designed as minimal spaces simply for sleeping, the Smart Pod is conceived as an integrated accommodation unit that combines sleep, work, relaxation, and entertainment in a single space.
Each pod offers a ceiling height of approximately 2.3 meters. Because guests can stand upright, the design reduces any sense of confinement and accommodates taller international guests. The bed features a reclining function, allowing users to switch between bed mode and sofa mode. A large storage space beneath the bed can accommodate suitcases. Each Smart Pod is equipped with a safety box, power outlets, and USB ports. The alarm system gradually brightens the lighting and activates the reclining function to encourage waking, allowing guests to rise without disturbing others with sound.
In addition, by renting a projector for an additional fee and closing the sliding screen, guests can transform the Smart Pod into a private theater space.
Of the 112 rooms, one entire floor is designated as a women-only floor. Each floor is equipped with shower rooms, toilets, and washbasins, supporting long-term stays.
It has a lounge space that guests can freely use and a co-working space ".andwork" with about 50 seats. In the lounge, The Millennials Shibuya staff also work in the same space on a daily basis. Check-in service, city tours, and event preparations are also conducted on this floor, creating a sense of distance that makes it easy for guests to approach the staff. The floor is equipped with a large kitchen. Equipped with a refrigerator, induction stove, BALMUDA microwave oven, and toaster, it can be used for self-catering during extended stays or remote work.
The adjoining “.andwork” is fully equipped with Wi-Fi and power outlets and is suitable for online meetings. Hotel guests may use the space 24 hours a day. It is designed to allow international guests in different time zones to continue working according to their home country’s time. Private booths are also available, supporting focused work and online meetings. During certain hours, the space is open to non-guests as well, and it is also used as a workspace hub for people working in the Shibuya area.
Every day from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Free Beer Time is held in the fourth-floor lounge. Guests can enjoy draft beer at no charge. In addition, in-house events are organized once or twice a month. Through activities such as takoyaki parties, nagashi-somen (a traditional style of eating somen noodles by catching them as they flow in water), and seasonal celebrations, opportunities are created for guests to gather around the same table and connect with one another.
All staff members are able to assist in English. The team includes individuals with diverse backgrounds, such as dancers, DJs, and photographers. Community events are also organized, visiting local sento (public bathhouses), izakaya (Japanese pubs), and jazz bars. Connections formed inside the hotel naturally extend into the streets of Shibuya.
