A flagship store where you can experience the world of "PORTER" in a space reminiscent of a hotel lobby or gallery
This is the first directly operated flagship store of the brand "PORTER," developed by Yoshida Kaban, founded in 1935. The store embodies the brand’s craftsmanship, which has been consistently maintained through domestic production in Japan. Located on a quiet backstreet of Omotesando, the store is designed with a hotel theme, reflecting the brand’s name, and offers a calm atmosphere where visitors can take their time selecting products.
"PORTER" is a bag brand by Yoshida Kaban, established in 1935. "PORTER OMOTESANDO," which opened in 2000, is its first directly operated flagship store. More than just a place to purchase bags, the store is designed to allow visitors to experience the brand’s philosophy and craftsmanship. Themed around a hotel, the first-floor "ROOM1" features a wide range of products including signature PORTER series, the lifestyle concept brand "POTR", store-exclusive items, and collaborations. The space gives the impression of entering a hotel room while on a journey.

The store sits quietly on a backstreet away from the bustle of Omotesando.
Inside the store is a section called "FACTORY," where, on weekends, visitors can watch craftsmen at work. Their careful stitching, done one stitch at a time using sewing machines, conveys the spirit of "Ippari Nyūkon"—putting one’s soul into every stitch.
“Heart and soul into every Stitch” expresses the spirit of pouring one’s soul into every single stitch—an ethos passed down at Yoshida Kaban.
"the PORTER Gallery 1" is a space for rotating exhibitions. In addition to showcasing new collections, it also features collaborations with other fields such as art and music. This space reflects the brand's philosophy of treating bags not just as items, but as products with background and context.
A spiral staircase leads up to the second floor, which has a relaxed atmosphere like a lobby or library. Business bags, leather items that develop a distinctive flavor the more you use them, and items dyed with persimmon tannin are lined up here. This is a space where practical and delicate items are available!
In addition to bags, the store offers a variety of travel-related items. Highlights include a collaboration with the long-established Japanese eyewear brand "Hakusan Megane-ten," offering made-in-Japan sunglasses and eyewear suitable for both travel and daily use. The store also carries high-performance, compact cameras by the world-renowned brand "LEICA", presented as tools for documenting travel, alongside bags.
The store also features a selection of books curated by the popular Tokyo-based bookstore "POST" in Ebisu. Topics include travel, design, and architecture, and all books are available to browse and purchase. The music playing in the store is selected by the record specialist "Disk Union," filling the space with the warmth of analog sound.
