Hidden Base of Records and Fashion, Tucked Away in Daikanyama

The shop is located along the road leading to "Daikanyama Tsutaya Books". Many tourists are drawn in by the sight of clothes and records visible through the glass doors, often stopping by on impulse. Inside, the atmosphere is that of a private garage packed with a personal collection—weathered wooden floors, colorful records and apparel, and a mirror ball hanging from the ceiling. Though eclectic at first glance, the space is stylish and calm.

The space is neatly curated, yet it avoids feeling overly modern, striking a perfect balance. A glittering mirror ball hangs from the ceiling.

Genreless Collection of Music, from New Releases to Reissues

The shop mainly focuses on records but also carries CDs and cassettes, spanning a wide range of genres including jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and electronic music. Selections highlight artists who are admired for their fashion sense, as well as those who created groundbreaking music that defined their eras. There is a listening space where visitors can sample tracks before purchasing. Staff members, some of whom are DJs, are available to share insights into the artists' backgrounds and the roots of the music, making this a welcoming place to casually immerse yourself in culture.

The walls are lined with records and CDs carefully selected from both Japan and abroad, with displays refreshed weekly.

Rare cassette tapes, collected personally by the buyer, include hard-to-find gems not widely distributed.

Vintage posters used for album promotions and event advertisements are also available for purchase.

Apparel with Music Roots — Perfect for Souvenirs

Music and fashion have always been closely connected. "bonjour records" offers a rich selection of music-rooted apparel, including T-shirts printed with photographs of artists. They also carry unique souvenir-like items such as exclusive collaborations with eateries from Shibuya and France, available only here. Everything selected from diverse cultures shares a clean and refined aesthetic, making them perfect for lovers of music and fashion.

Featured items include apparel printed with portraits of artists captured by photographers. At the time of the interview, T-shirts featuring Kurt Cobain and Björk were prominently displayed.

Unique souvenir goods also include original caps from "STUDIO MULE", a wine bar in Shinsen, Shibuya, and merchandise from popular restaurants in Paris.

Rich Collection of Imported Zines and Art Books

At the back of the shop, bookshelves are filled with photo books, art books, and zines themed around music, fashion, and subculture. While most titles are imports, "bonjour records" also offers original Japanese-language zines. Topics include Japanese vintage clothing, sneaker culture, and traditional cafés, with many compact, travel-friendly booklets—popular among tourists.
