A Concept Café Produced by Voice Actor Sumire Uesaka
Located in Akihabara, Twilight Rouge is a concept café produced by voice actor Sumire Uesaka. Built around the theme of an academy attended by elegant vampires,” the space is brought to life through its richly imagined setting, carefully designed interior, and original menu. Alongside immersive performances, guests can enjoy thoughtfully crafted food and drinks, making it an elegant escape from everyday life.
Just beyond the bustle of Akihabara stands a doorway leading to another world. This is Twilight Rouge, a concept café fully produced by Sumire Uesaka, the voice actor known for roles such as Lum in Urusei Yatsura and Meat in Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc.
The store features a narrative worldview: "There is an academy for training beautiful vampires called Twilight Rouge in the demon world, and the common room of the academy is connected to the space inside this store.

Open the door marked by a neon sign symbolizing the entrance to the underworld, and guests are welcomed as senpai—a Japanese term for a senior or upperclassman. From the trainee uniforms to the interior décor and performances, Uesaka’s personal touch can be felt throughout the space. The café also displays Uesaka merchandise, handwritten messages, and exchange notebooks where visiting senpai can leave their thoughts, creating an atmosphere that feels almost like returning to an alma mater from another world.
Official merchandise is also available, including acrylic stands of Uesaka in costume.
Uesaka personally visited properties before selecting the location, and worked closely with contractors on every aspect of the interior—from wood finishes and sofas to the shape of the tables.
The centerpiece is a polygonal wraparound bar counter designed so guests can enjoy watching the trainees from any seat. Their movements and presence can be observed throughout the room.
The sofas were inspired by the relaxed atmosphere of a classic Japanese coffee shop, while candle-like lamps and wallpaper evoke the gothic world of Castlevania. The result is a unified space that brings the vampire academy lounge to life.

The interactive menu is one of the highlights of Twilight Rouge. The experience begins with a playful call-and-response toast led by the trainees, followed by signature concept-café staples such as omurice decorated with ketchup art and souvenir Instax photos. A large stage and monitor area also allows guests to enjoy karaoke performances by the trainees, adding to the lively atmosphere.
What especially sets the café apart, however, is a series of “lesson” experiences inspired by Uesaka’s work as a voice actor. One of the most distinctive is an etude (improvised acting) menu, in which guests exchange lines with their chosen trainee in a short performance scenario. As Uesaka explains: “It’s a menu where you can exchange lines with a trainee in an etude-style improvised scene. I personally wrote all of the dialogue myself.” The result is an immersive interaction in which guests, as senpai, take on a guiding role in a way unique to this café.
A signature opening toast performed as a set call-and-response: the trainee calls Akaku, the guest answers Kirameku; then Tasogare no, Otome; and finally Twilight—with everyone joining together for Rouge!
Value sets are also available, combining the seating charge, drinks, omurice decorated with ketchup art, and an Instax photo.
Guests can choose either an Instax photo with their favorite trainee or a solo portrait.
Some menu options include karaoke performances by trainees on stage.
The menu reflects Uesaka’s personal taste just as clearly as the interior design. Most striking is the drink selection, featuring an unexpectedly extensive lineup for a concept café. Many of the selections reflect Uesaka’s own preferences, giving the menu a distinctly personal touch. The food menu is equally thoughtful. The kitchen is fully equipped with fryers, allowing the café to serve freshly prepared hot dishes alongside its concept-driven menu. Beyond the concept and performances, Twilight Rouge is also a place where guests can simply come for satisfying food and drinks.

Kraken Fry (Octopus) — freshly fried bite-sized pieces of octopus. 1,000R 1R = 1 yen
Class Ice Cream: Student Council — cassis sorbet topped with mushrooms, a favorite of the student council president. 800R 1R = 1 yen
To fully enjoy Twilight Rouge, guests are asked to follow a few simple rules. To protect the privacy of the trainees, unauthorized photography and audio recording inside the café are not allowed. Photos may only be taken of purchased food and drinks, or through approved options such as Instax photo menus. Physical contact with trainees, exchanging personal contact information, or waiting for them outside the venue is also not permitted. The generous drink selection is part of the café’s charm, but guests are encouraged to drink responsibly. By respecting these guidelines and the atmosphere of the space, visitors can fully enjoy the unique world of Twilight Rouge.
