A Jet-Black Store that Embodies the Brand’s Worldview

“BlackEyePatch” was founded in 2013. At first, it existed almost like a “mysterious sticker collective,” engaging in activities reminiscent of an apparel label. Its reputation spread through street word of mouth, and it eventually grew into a nationally recognized fashion brand. The flagship store, “BlackEyePatch HARAJUKU,” has a simple design—jet-black walls with only the logo displayed—yet its heavy black façade leaves a lasting impression. The flagship stores in Nagoya and Osaka share the same unified jet-black exterior.
The first floor features a minimalist interior with concrete flooring. Monitors mounted on the walls display original brand graphics, powerfully expressing its worldview.

A sleek interior with a moderate number of items on display. Visitors can enjoy shopping in a calm atmosphere while immersing themselves in the brand’s identity.

The monitor set up behind the counter makes a striking impact, constantly showing visuals that embody the brand’s style.

Rare Items That Aren’t Always Available!

On the first floor, the brand’s featured items of the moment are beautifully arranged. For example, the T-shirt featuring the brand’s iconic “OG LABEL” logo is a rare item sold only occasionally—but during our visit, it happened to be available. Being able to obtain such signature pieces, which are not always available online, is one of the store’s major attractions.

The very first logo T-shirt ever produced by the brand. It occasionally appears in-store and continues to enjoy high popularity. T-shirt ¥8,800.

A classic T-shirt featuring the “Handle with Care” label graphic ¥8,800 each.

On the lower rack, T-shirts inspired by the old 10,000-yen bill ¥7,700 each.

Choosing Items Surrounded by Brand Logos

On the second floor, visitors are welcomed into a space entirely covered in brand logos. Mirrors are installed as well, creating a slightly disorienting sense of losing one’s balance. Everywhere you look—right or left—it is filled with logos. The product lineup is also extensive, including collaboration items with internationally active rapper Yuki Chiba.“BlackEyePatch” products are known for their heavyweight fabrics, bold prints, and meticulous embroidery. Here, customers can see and feel them directly, choosing items to their own preference.

Even the fitting rooms are covered wall-to-wall with logos, creating an overwhelming design.

Collaboration T-shirts with rapper Yuki Chiba are also available. T-shirt ¥8,800.

A Place to Immerse Yourself in Japanese Hip-Hop Culture

Hip-hop music is constantly playing inside the store. At its core, “BlackEyePatch” is deeply rooted in hip-hop culture. Leading figures in the scene—such as Yuki Chiba and Japan’s hip-hop queen Awich, along with many other renowned rappers—wear the brand. Naturally, the shop attracts hip-hop enthusiasts. The clothing designs also incorporate graphics sampled from an enormous archive of hip-hop references, offering exciting details for those familiar with the culture. It is a space where visitors can fully enjoy the unique appeal of a street brand—fun precisely because you understand the culture behind it.

At the first-floor counter, a variety of small goods are also displayed, making them perfect souvenirs. The prime location in the heart of Harajuku is another highlight. Be sure to visit the home base of “BlackEyePatch,” one of today’s leading Japanese streetwear brands.

The shop window displays accessories such as chains, coin purses, mugs, and lighters. Many are affordably priced, making them ideal commemorative items for visitors.
