A Social Hostel for Those Who Love Shibuya’s Nightlife
Located in the Shinsen area near Shibuya, "WISE OWL HOSTELS SHIBUYA" is a popular hostel among night-oriented travelers, thanks to its proximity to clubs and bars. The dining area on the first floor encourages natural conversations among guests, attracting artists and creatives alike. Every bed is equipped with a Simmons mattress, ensuring a comfortable stay even for short-term visitors. This is the perfect place to stay for those looking to enjoy Shibuya late into the night.
"WISE OWL HOSTELS SHIBUYA" is an urban-style hostel that opened in April 2017. Located just outside Shibuya's bustling entertainment district, it offers convenient access to clubs, live music venues, and music bars, all within walking distance. It's an ideal location for travelers who plan to stay out late. The concept of the hostel is “Not just sleep, but deep rest after truly playing hard.” It’s a place where guests can enjoy both excitement and relaxation during their stay.
The hotel's name, "OWL (Owl)" is a symbol of nocturnal activity. The symbolic "Meg, the second landlady," a wooden carving placed in the lobby, welcomes guests.
The lobby and dining space on the first floor hosts a happy hour every day from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., creating a welcoming atmosphere where guests can easily strike up conversations over drinks. In some cases, guests who meet during happy hour end up heading out together to enjoy Shibuya’s nightlife. The hostel also occasionally holds events organized by staff, which serve as great opportunities for guests to meet and interact.
The first-floor lobby eating and drinking area is also open as "Soba-Toku Owl" during lunchtime. While being a lodging facility, it also plays the role of a "town cafeteria," providing a place where locals and travelers can mingle naturally. The menu features authentic soba noodles made with dashi broth carefully prepared from bonito, mackerel, and kelp. Kakiage Soba," "Garland Chrysanthemum Soba," and "Curry Soba" are popular among foreign tourists.
Both guests and staff members are artists and creators. In the hotel, there are wall paintings by overseas artists who have stayed at the hotel, and original goods created by the staff are placed throughout the hotel. In addition, the "WISE OWL MAGAZINE," a monthly magazine handmade by the staff, provides local information on nearby spots, art, and music. It functions as a "trigger" for travelers to encounter culture.
Messages and drawings left by guests cover the wall in front of the elevator.
All 97 beds in the hostel are equipped with Simmons mattresses, ensuring a restful stay even for short-term guests. The hostel offers various room types to suit different travel styles, including female-only dormitories, family rooms, and private rooms. The interior features calming wood tones, and the shared spaces are kept clean and comfortable. Facilities include gender-separated showers and washrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and laundry rooms. Lockers with keys are provided, and English-speaking staff are always available—creating a secure environment for international travelers.
