Located on the entire sixth floor of Tower Records Shibuya, TOWER VINYL SHIBUYA is a dedicated space for vinyl enthusiasts. The 495-square-meter floor is lined with iconic record sleeves that excite just to look at. Warm, immersive sound flows from vintage Altec speakers, creating a cozy atmosphere that invites deep listening. To top it off, you can enjoy beer sold in-store while crate-digging—a unique perk that adds to the experience.
The shop carries around 100,000 vinyl records across all genres.

The reissue of "FOR YOU" by Tatsuro Yamashita is a limited-edition pressing. The first track on Side A, "SPARKLE", embodies the essence of City Pop. 4,400 yen.
Around 70% of the shop’s visitors are tourists from overseas, especially from the U.S., China, South Korea, and Europe. In addition to Tatsuro Yamashita, popular artists include Anri, Mariya Takeuchi, Miki Matsubara, and Taeko Onuki. The multilingual staff speaks English, Chinese, and Korean, ensuring a smooth experience for visitors. New stock typically arrives on Saturdays, making weekends the best time to visit.

The shop doesn’t just sell vinyl. It also offers record players, cassette tapes, and boomboxes. Many of these are beginner-friendly and designed to lower the entry barrier for analog music. Palm-sized cassette tapes are especially popular with overseas tourists, as are portable boomboxes. Staff say they aim to “make music enjoyable and accessible to everyone.” Future plans include in-store DJ events tied to special releases.
